Here is the process in a nutshell on Highway One's. Bodies and necks are CNC carved in Corona, CA. Next the bodies and necks are loaded onto a truck. The truck carries them southbound on HIGHWAY ONE into Baja Mexico ultimately to the Fender Factory in Ensenada. The guitar necks and bodies are finished in Ensenada. The finishes used have evolved to the current nitro paint. Bodies and necks are put back onto the truck and carted back to Corona, CA where electronics and hardware is installed and the instrument set up.
I can tell you that, until recently, Highway Ones were strung with strings made at the Ensenada plant. Is this the smoking gun?

"The Highway One bodies and necks are rough cut in Mexico. They are then sent to the USA for sanding and finishing. The electronics are made in Mexico, and the hardware is imported. Most of the work is actually done in the USA, and that’s why it says “Made in USA” on the headstock."

Ne toliko radi fanned fretova nego radi profila. A bojom ju je jedino nadmašio PRS-ov Al DiMeola signature.
No opet nije strat. Ipak bi to bio Carvin, "Hecho en San Diego!"
